Sandra Carlo

Sandra Carlo (she/they) is an interdisciplinary performance artist new to the Twin Cities. Her foundational dance training comes from Rogers Ballet, Inc. of Kansas and she holds an Honors Baccalaureate (H.B.) in Dance and Women’s studies from Wichita State University, as well as an M.A. in Dance Politics and Sociology from the University of Roehampton in London, England. She has worked with Cheyla Clawson Chandler, Dr. Avanthi Meduri, Dr. Tamara Tomic-Vajagic, and many other illustrious dance educators, makers, and movers. She most recently showed her dance-theater solo ‘What the Eco-sexualists Got Right’ at Bryant Lake Bowl’s Crude Tuesday. She believes in play, bountiful creative practices, and nurturing absurdity. She is particularly excited to join the Soiled Dance Series due to her Great Plains roots, dedication to honoring place, and an overwhelming willingness to get dirty. See you on the farm!
